Trainer Connect ("we", "us", or "our") operates the fitness coaching platform available at trainerconnect.club. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data.

Information you provide directly
- Name and email address when you create an account
- Password (stored as a one-way cryptographic hash)
- Profile details such as birthday, phone number, and alias
- Training and performance data you or your coach enter (workouts, sessions, metrics, check-ins)
Information from third-party login providers
If you choose to sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name and email address from that provider. We do not receive your password or payment information from these providers.
Information collected automatically
- Session cookies to keep you logged in (3-hour lifetime)
- Server access logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and operational purposes
3. Facebook User Birthday Data
If you authenticate with Facebook, we request the user_birthday permission. We use this data strictly to provide age-relevant content.
Specifically, Trainer Connect is designed for use by athletes competing in Sweden and Norway, where there are strict national sports competition regulations regarding children and youth sports. Your birthday is used to categorize your account into the correct age group to ensure the coaching and periodization tools comply with these regulations. This information is processed securely and is never sold or used for marketing purposes.
4. How We Use Your Information
- Providing the service: your name, email, and training data are used to operate the coaching platform — scheduling sessions, tracking progress, and connecting coaches with athletes.
- Authentication: your email and credentials are used to verify your identity on each login.
- Communication: we may use your email to send account-related notifications such as invitations or password reset requests.
- Security and abuse prevention: access logs are used to detect and respond to security incidents.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising.
4. Data Sharing
We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Your coach or athlete: coaches can see the training data and profile information of athletes they are connected with, and vice versa.
- Hosting provider: our application runs on Fly.io infrastructure. Your data is stored on servers within the EU (Stockholm region). Fly.io processes data on our behalf under their data processing terms.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and training data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
